This photograph has been exhibited before. When I asked visitors what they saw in this image, most of them answered that it was molded wood. But that is not the important part.

The mind becomes accustomed to recognizing familiar things—the concrete. It loves patterns and is deeply attached to the ones it already knows. When we are children, we do not have this “disease.” We imagine all sorts of things, especially when we do not understand what we are seeing.

So, let’s play a game called “What If?” It is simple.

What if there is a heart?
What if there is a face?
What if there is a dragon?
What if…?
